Entering the office of Maureen Riebel, brides immediately breathe a sigh of relief. Their involuntary relaxing may be the result of the office's soothing sophistication, accented by emotional wedding portraits that exude a timeless love. More than likely, however, it is the woman behind the mahogany desk who has instilled such calm. With her sincere smile and confident nature, Maureen Riebel is perfectly suited to ease the worries of any nervous bride - and she does so almost instantly.

"Many people believe that the job of a wedding consultant begins and ends with the directing of the wedding day," Maureen, owner of Elegant Events by Maureen, says, "but my job actually begins the minute a couple enters my office. My goal is to make the entire planning process as stress-free as possible for both the bride and groom."

Maureen begins by meeting with the couple for a free consultation. "It's important that I understand what is significant to each couple - what do they envision on their wedding day," she explains. "At the same time, they want to understand my importance. How can I help them in their planning, and what are my services and advantages?"

The advantages are endless. As Maureen herself says, "I am a coordinator, negotiator, explorer, administrator, and a facilitator." Whether she is planning all or portions of a wedding, couples will be amazed with her thoroughness. "Clients often do not realize how much time it takes to plan a wedding - especially if the wedding date is in the spring or fall, which are often the busiest wedding seasons in the San Antonio area. For every wedding, there are usually 10-15 vendors that must be contacted immediately and reserved."

As a consultant, Maureen's job is not only to assist the couple in choosing vendors, but to also help them use their budget wisely. "I work with vendors that I know and trust, and I have no doubts about recommending them to my clients. However, I am always willing to research new avenues of services to meet a client's expectations." If a couple is concerned with their budget, Maureen may suggest small changes that will more efficiently use their budget while maintaining their overall plan.

Part of Maureen's success lies within her multifaceted nature. While she enjoys the more traditional wedding styles, she is also not afraid to venture into new arenas at a client's request. For example, she recently planned a 1920's theme wedding, complete with vintage bridesmaids' dresses and tuxedos as well as appropriate music and entertainment. "I enjoy planning a unique experience for the wedding party and guests, whether it involves a special theme or location," she says. "In fact, every wedding is unique to me - my job is simply to perfect the overall experience for the bride and the groom and give them a day they will always cherish."

After all, perfection is what every couple dreams of on their wedding day. And with Maureen Riebel at the helm of their wedding planning, that dream will most certainly become a reality.
