Weddings are often fairy tale moments. A bride in a white, flowing gown, the groom in a crisp black tuxedo, a flowergirl tossing rose petals down the aisle. It's a once in a lifetime moment, and a day many women have dreamed about all their lives. A day to be cherished and well remembered.

Its importance is not lost on David and Lori Boeck, owners of Reflections Studio.

"We don't treat weddings lightly at all," says David, who feels that every wedding is the story of a couple, and each one is very different.

"We approach our weddings from a storytelling aspect," says David, who has been a professional photographer for nearly 19 years. The portraits on the wall of the studio attest to the unique stories behind each of the weddings.

"Their character is coming out," David says, looking at the various photos. In one, a bride smiles out from a soft, sepia-toned portrait on the wall. In another, a bride in a brocade Cinderella dress looks up from the stone steps of a curving staircase.

Full color, black and white, hand-tinted and sepia-toned photographs are not out of place at Reflections. The extraordinary, the creative, the unique - are all to be found in these halls. At Reflections, everyone gets just want they want.

"We're very flexible," says Lori Boeck. "We'll rearrange and we'll customize."

Customizing can mean traditional photographs, extra candid shots, or something completely unique to the customer. Many modern brides are seeking black and white photographs, which Reflections specializes in. Classy and contemporary, the Boecks are happy to mix this "new" style with color photographs and other styles. With a team of at least two photographers at each wedding, they can supply almost any style and still not miss a moment.

"We love candid shots," says David, who emphasizes that their candid shots aren't just photos of wedding tables or scenery, but focused on the moments, the people and the events during the wedding.

What helps them anticipate the special moments is their knowledge of each couple. "Building a relationship is key to making sure it all works out," David says. "By the time of the wedding, we're friends. We're not business associates."

Not only does this relax the couple and the guests, but it makes for great results. "We're finding this nice mix that leaves them with all good memories," he says. "They say, you're the one thing I'm not worried about."

It's not surprising. In addition to the ample proof on the walls, clients are presented with samples of work from the team that will be working their wedding. Each team is headed by Lori or David, with at least one assistant photographer.

"We have a team concept. It's not a one-man show," says David, who adds that there's never any doubt who will show up on the day of their wedding. In addition to David and Lori, the assistants are full-time, professional photographers with large portfolios of their own.

Clients are also encouraged to come in anytime to look at other portraits to get ideas for their own wedding. "We always tell them, come in and look at things," David says.

For the Boecks, it's easy to welcome and get to know each client. "We absolutely love what we do. Weddings can be very stressful but we don't view it like that at all."
