Do away with the typical guest book or engagement photo display at your wedding reception and instead opt for a fun and funky alternative starring you and sweetheart.
Having always had an eye for unique ideas, it was no surprise when Michelle Squier of McGreevy-Squier Photography spurred the newest trend for San Antonio couples. Welcome the movie poster.
Although she has seen it done before, Squier introduced the concept to area brides bringing a fresh and fun twist to the typical photo session.
“These days couples want that ‘wow’ factor, or to just be a little unique with their wedding. This is a great way to showcase a couple that never goes out of style,” she says. “Most of us are movie goers, and why not feel like a star for your wedding day? And in the end it displays well in a recreational room, family room or media room. It certainly can replace traditional engagement photos. In addition, this is a great way to let off some stress and let out that inner movie star!”
Although not too far off from a typical session, Squier encourages couples to really get into the character they’re portraying in the film, allowing for great photos.
“It really isn’t much, if at all, different from one of my engagement sessions. But with the movie poster sessions, they get to play dress up or carry props. It’s really fun—for the couple and for me,” Squier says.
As a third-generation photographer, she is a natural trendsetter and brings a stylish and artistic approach to everything she does.
“Photography is very subjective. Every person likes and wants something different,” Squier says. “I love getting to know clients who come in and see if my style is what they’re looking for. If they like my work, they’re definitely going to get 110 percent of my efforts to create something that really speaks to their personalities. And if it’s fitting to them, movie posters are a great option. It’s different and best yet—it’s very reasonably priced.”
