Los Patios:
Where Romance and Beauty Transcend

It may be the 21st century, but it doesn’t feel like it when you’re surrounded by 20 acres of live oaks and lush landscaping. The frenzied sounds of the city are replaced by the soothing sounds of nature. You soon notice all sorts of wildlife going about their business. Ducks, egrets, and blue herons make their way along the banks of Salado Creek while squirrels dart through the trees with seemingly endless energy. Tensions ease and you begin to relax.

“Los Patios is an extraordinary place...not something you expect in the heart of a busy city” said Diana Flores, co-owner and Catering Director at Los Patios, — one of San Antonio’s most beloved and familiar landmarks. “Our natural setting is not something we merely feature at Los Patios, it defines everything we do", said Flores.

Los Patios has flourished over the years, growing from a small garden and landscape design firm in 1968 to a favorite shopping and dining mecca for locals and tourists alike. As Los Patios has grown up, it has not forgotten its roots. The owners of Los Patios strive to maintain their secluded grounds in much the same way they would have appeared to native tribesmen and pioneers hundreds of years ago. "Everything we do at Los Patios celebrates and preserves nature. We consider ourselves stewards of a very special place, and intend to do everything we can to preserve it not only for our current clients, but for their children and grandchildren, said John McClung, co-owner and Managing Director of Los Patios.

SETTINGS FOR ROMANCE OR REVELRY

The stillness and serenity is why so many brides choose Los Patios as a perfect place for exchanging vows. Even in the heat of San Antonio summer, Los Patios’ cedars and moss-covered live oaks, verdant natural grasses, brilliant flowering plants, and the coolness of Salado Creek create an enchanted forest to delight any wedding guest.

Adding to the experience of our staff and natural surroundings are the impeccable facilities.  Los Patios has four facilities available for weddings, receptions, and related events: The Gazebo, The Hacienda, The Brazier, and The Workshop. The flagship venue, The Gazebo, can accommodate large events (250 seated and 1500 for hors d'oeuvre receptions). The Gazebo features a brick and stone paved entrance that leads you through a courtyard with huge cut limestone walls adored with plants, flowers and climbing vines. The building consists of four rooms of varying size surrounding a central patio. Like all the facilities at Los Patios, windows are everywhere...affording guests view after view of the lush grounds. The Gazebo has a lovely bride's dressing room.

The Hacienda's southwestern flair and two-story layout add to the variety of choice for Los Patios' clients. Featuring a central atrium and Mexican Cantera stone fountain, the look and feel of the Hacienda is frequently commented on by out-of-town guests as "classic San Antonio". Warm wood handrails, tile flooring, and rustic furniture convey the essence of old Mexico. Hidden on the top floor is a simple yet elegant bride's dressing room. The Hacienda can serve up to 250 guests.

The Brazier was recently renovated and reopened to Los Patios' public. The Brazier is a predominately glass structure nestled on the edge of Salado Creek. The Brazier features a lovely deck surrounding the building, a Koi Pond and a waterfall that lend a special solitude to what is arguable Los Patios most natural setting for private events. The Brazier can serve up to 150 persons.

Finally, there's The Workshop. The only building on Los Patios campus when the Company was founded in 1968, The Workshop used to be known as "Tom's Hideaway", a neighborhood bar tucked in the woods. The Workshop features a large patio overlooking a beautiful stretch of Salado Creek. The Workshop is designed for more intimate events, accommodating up to fifty guests.

35 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTENTION

Los Patios' gift of natural beauty isn't the only reason it has been the site of thousands of weddings and receptions. Diana Flores has been assisting brides with wedding arrangements for 25 years. Diana's experience has proven invaluable to those sometimes nervous brides desiring the perfect wedding or reception.

Diana is joined by her assistant Aimee Herrera and a veteran staff in orchestrating every bridal event at Los Patios. This is no small feat since Los Patios can host up to 1500 guests. "We make sure we take care of the details ahead of time", said Flores. "From beginning to end, we do our best to accommodate our clients' every need."

Brides also love the one-stop shopping experience Los Patios provides. Unique wedding gifts are available from the fine merchants at Los Patios: Initial Tree Gallery, Galeria Boutique and Fine Leather, Mercedes Jewelry and Gifts, and Inca Boutique. Louis Benavides of FPS Portrait Studios is available for consultations on bridal portraiture and candid photography. The Garden Room, Los Patios in-house floral design and event decorating service gives clients a convenient, cost-effective choice for custom decorations from bouquets to wedding arches to centerpieces.

From catering services to decorations to unrelenting attention to detail, Los Patios is in a class by itself. "It's a wonderful place to be married. We take pride in creating a memorable, one-of-a-kind experience for couples starting new lives together", Flores said. "We're richly blessed".
