Finding the right wedding photographer can be as difficult as finding the right spouse. Your wedding photos will stay with you long after your big day is over and are impossible to duplicate. It’s important not only to find a photographer who will capture the story of your wedding, but also to find one who’s a stylistic match for you and your partner.
San Antonio Wedding’s photographer profiles will help you meet the wedding photographers of San Antonio, learn about their unique styles, and find your perfect match.
Justin Brownell is San Antonio-based photographer who shoots everything from advertising to scenery to weddings. He used his GI bill to attend art school for web design, took a required photography elective, and never looked back.
Justin’s style centers around his combined love for geometric art and photojournalism. Each of his wedding photos captures the tenderness of his couple’s love without any staging or elaborate backdrops. The rawness of love is especially important for Justin; it’s part of showing who each couple truly is.
“I want to create art for my clients as well as document their love and who they truly are,” said Justin. “That’s always in my mind, inspiring me to keep pushing – the true, raw love that they have.”
Justin’s style is notable for the special attention he pays to the unique and subtle features of the environment around his couples. His specialty is finding the quiet beauty of any location and bringing it to the forefront.
“I am inspired to create something new every time I shoot,” said Justin. “So if I’m going to a venue I’ve worked at, I want to give my clients something that nobody else married at that venue has ever got.”
Justin’s favorite part of shooting weddings is getting to document the love stories of his couples.
“I love people in love,” he said. “Every couple is unique, one-of-a-kind. You just see it what they have and it’s amazing. Getting to be a part of their big day, documenting their love and creating art for them that they’ll pass down through their families – that makes me feel like I am doing something with my life that truly impacts others.”
What kind of couple is the right match for Justin? “Usually I find my couples are looking for the creative approach, but also want to document the raw, photojournalistic moments of their wedding. Most of them are easygoing and trust my vision, because they know that when I show up I’m going to work with everything I have to document their big day for them.”
Justin books weddings anywhere from 2 years to 3 months in advance.
“I set up a meeting with prospective clients to make sure we vibe together," he said. "It’s important for us to have a connection and for them to know that I’m super agile. Anything they throw my direction, I can handle.”
