2-Months to Go! Invitation Shopping at Gir...

Hey y’all,

Happy New Year!

It’s 2018---can you believe it? I know I can’t. Our engagement has flown by. The big day is in just a couple of months, and if I’m being completely honest, I let the holidays take over wedding planning, so I still have a lot of little things left on my to-do list.

I did, however, manage to cross at least one major item off over the holiday season—the invitations. Since I knew the 2-month mark was fast approaching, I visited with stationery specialists at Girl General.

The store has such a wide variety to choose from. Once you make an appointment, you’ll sit with an expert who will show you an array of styles and choices—from types of paper, to the exact verbiage you’d prefer. Also, you can choose something that’s pre-made or have a designer create something more original for you. They really have it all.

Here are a few tips I have for any bride-to-be hunting for her invitations:

  • If you decide to visit a stationery store, it would be a huge help if you came with an idea in mind. Starting from scratch can be overwhelming once you're there. Bring with you your color scheme or Pinterest board to guide you through your appointment.
  • Your invitations should generally match (at least loosely) the theme/overall look of your wedding. But try not to spend TOO much time on this, in my opinion, most people will not notice these tiny details.
  • If you have a million opinions thrown at you, as I feel sometimes, please try to remember that the only opinion that should matter is yours as a couple. I think we all forget this from time to time.

Whether you decide to book with a stationery store or online, there's plenty to choose from. Decide what's best for your occasion and try not to stress!

Until next time,
