It's Monday and I strategically saved my #FavoritePhotos for today. Some of you might've gotten ready today as you would any other day. Perhaps it was the flags at half mast on your route to work that served as a reminded of today's date. But for some this date bears a heavy burden on their hearts-- forever engrained in their memory.
I came across a post on my Instagram feed last night that put it rather well:
Exactly 16 years ago today millions of Americans went on their day with no clue that as of the next morning, nothing would ever be the same.
That night, hundreds packed bags that they would never live to open and thousands slept with their loved ones for the last time.
One never knows what a new day has in store, so live each day to the fullest and never miss an opportunity to tell those who matter most that they are loved.
So today, we share a message of love-- to those that have served to protect our freedom, to those who have dedicated their lives to saving others. We hold them longer, hug them tighter and say 'I love you' a million times over-- because nothing in this life is promised.
