Brittany McConville & Alex Quante
Hometowns: San Antonio, TX
How did you meet? Alex and I met senior year at Texas A&M University on a ski trip. We both were hesitant to start dating because he was going to San Antonio for Dental School and I was headed to Houston for grad school. We took a chance and the rest is history!
Tell us about the proposal. On Sunday, October 16, 2016, Alex explained we were going to a winery and his grandma's ranch, Tooth Acres. We stopped at Tooth Acres first and he brought me to our favorite spot that overlooks the field and creek. He got down on one knee and popped the question!
What inspired the design or theme of your wedding day? We love being outdoors so we wanted our theme to be natural yet elegant. We knew our venue had an amazing outdoor area so we chose our colors as blush pink, ivory, and gold to tie in the elegant feel and had our wedding party in long dresses and tuxedos.
Why did you choose the venue and vendors you did? Kendall Plantation is an incredible venue- it tied in our elegant theme with a natural outdoor look. Kendall Plantation also held our 300 person wedding comfortably while still maintaining our dance floor. I researched our vendors and used suggestions from Kendall Plantation.
What were some of the most unique elements of your wedding? Our first dance was unique because we chose a faster song (Sugar by Maroon 5) and had it choreographed since we love to dance. Our section unique element was that we had Tiff's Treats cater the "groom's cake" since my husband loves warm cookies and ice cream.
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations? The flowers exceeded my expectations. My florist, Blume Haus, did a fabulous job with our wedding and created the vision I wanted. I wanted light pink and ivory flowers with lots of greenery to tight in the elegant and natural feel.
What advice do you have for couples planning a San Antonio wedding? 1. San Antonio has incredible venues and vendors that can make your wedding stress free and affordable. 2. Make a master check list and highlight items when you complete them. 3. Create a budget before you begin researching or booking vendors.
