Miranda & Scott Torres
Hometowns: San Antonio
How did you meet? We met in high school. he wanted to meet me after seeing me in a play, so he auditioned for a musical just so he could get to know me. We hit it off right away.
Tell us about the proposal. Nine years into our relationship, Scott proposed at my favorite place—the San Antonio Museum of Art, right in front of the cupid statue, with all of our family and friends there. We were the only people in the entire building!
What inspired the design or theme of your wedding day? We decided to get married on our 10th year as a couple and because of this we decided to go with a romantic theme. We picked the color navy because we wore that color to our prom and we added personal touches to the entire wedding.
Why did you choose the venue and vendors you did? We wanted a location that offered an indoor and outdoor option, so The Club at Sonterra was ideal. And when we met all of our vendors, we loved them instantly. We had the best vendors all working together—it was a dream.
What were some unique elements from your wedding? Our wedding date, which happened to fall the day before a family reunion, so everyone made it into town. We were able to incorporate our theater backgrounds and our goofiness. It rained the entire day and stopped 15 minutes before our outdoor ceremony.
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations? Our flowers by Eden's Echo were so beautiful and our photographers from Sun Gold Photography were perfect. Every vendor we chose exceeded our expectations and made our day perfect.
What advice do you have for couples planning a San Antonio wedding? Meet your vendors! Look at reviews online. Make sure you're patient when looking for the right person. It's your special day and nothing else matters at the end of the day except that you marry the person you love in front of the people you love.
