Tracie and Eric Slusarski
How did you meet? The first time I saw Eric was in 2014 while I was waiting tables at Twin Peaks. They were loud and really obnoxious, and I could not wait until they asked for their bill, so they could leave. At Twin Peaks, girls are encouraged to write little cute notes on the receipts to leave a good impression, so instead of cute notes I always kissed everyone's receipts. I was so ready for them to leave I kissed half of the table receipts and Eric was not one of them. When he saw I kissed the other receipts, he asked "Where's my kiss?" The next day we went to dinner and ever since that day we have been inseparable.
Tell us about the proposal: I really did not have a big plan or even know I was going to purpose to Tracie. I was in Georgia for a military class for 5 weeks. Towards the end of the course, I realized I had a feeling about her I never had for a girl in my whole life. I was missing Tracie like crazy and almost failed the class because my mind was so focused on her. That is when I decided I was going to ask the love of my life to marry me, and I knew she had no clue it was coming. I stopped at the store and bought some rose pedals and candles. The idea I had to proposal was somewhat silly, but I felt like it was very romantic, I started laying out rose pedals from the front door all the way to my room. Once the rose pedals hit my room, they spelled out with "will you marry me" with about 30 candles laying around in the room. I walked upstairs with her and I open the door where laid THE BIG QUESTION!
What inspired the design or theme of your wedding day? The theme of our wedding was Love Has No Color. We live in a world where color is a big issue and we wanted to be an example that love will always win no matter what race you are. LOVE IS LOVE!
Why did you choose the venue and vendors you did? I chose Hidden Falls at Remi's Ridge because the very first conversation I had with them they insured me that I would not regret choosing there venue. I also loved Josie from SA Floral Design. From the moment I met her I knew she was going to be my florist. We sat and talked for hours and the bond I built with her was amazing.
What were some of the most unique elements of your wedding? The gorgeous waterfall behind us as we said our vows completely blew me away.
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations? The way my decor went with the venue. It was so beautiful and the fact that we got to spend our wedding with family exceeded all my expectations.
What advice do you have for couples planning a San Antonio wedding? Always remember that it is your day with the one who matters most. Make sure you have a bond with your vendors and really trust them because in the end you want everything done perfectly.
