Taylor & Duncan
How did you meet? We met while in college at Texas A&M University. We were both in the Corps of Cadets and the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. I played the Trumpet and Duncan played the Trombone. During our senior year, we were both on the Bugle Rank for the band.
Tell us about the proposal. Duncan told me he wouldn’t propose until he had graduated and had a job lined up. Fortunately, he got a job lined up before he graduated, so the day he graduated he proposed to me under the Century Tree on campus!
What inspired the design or theme of your wedding day? We wanted a simple wedding, so we went with a “wedding” theme! Since it was in the summer, we wanted it to feel light and fun. That inspired our choices for the colors of blue and yellow with lots of lovely greenery, as well as my choice for my dress. I knew I wanted something that I would feel beautiful in, but that I could also dance in!
Why did you choose the venue and vendors you did? Our wedding planner, Gloria, had all of the best recommendations for vendors in our area, so we used her recommendations!
What were some of the most unique elements of your wedding? The open-air chapel at The Chandelier of Gruene was beautiful!
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations? The food was phenomenal! Our food from Got It Covered consisted of beef and chicken fajitas with beans and rice, a wonderful salad and some of the best sweet tea I’ve ever had. We wanted a menu that reflected our Texas, summer feel, and it was perfect!
What advice do you have for couples planning a San Antonio wedding? Book a great wedding coordinator! I had to plan my wedding from out of state and Gloria was a life saver.
