Sneha and Bhavin Patel
Hometown: San Antonio, TX
How did you meet? We met through mutual friends. At the time Bhavin was dating someone else, which ended. When the summer came he asked for my number, and at the same time, my parents also sent me his number. I took it as a sign that it was meant to be!
Tell us about the proposal. At the time, I was living in Dallas, TX and Bhavin decided to come down and celebrate New Year’s Eve with me. As usual, I had nothing planned, so when he arrived and said he had a spa day planned for us I was excited and a little surprised. So after our couple’s massages, facials, and foot rubs, we decided to go to the grocery store to grab a few things for dinner. Bhavin wanted to cook me his famous Cajun Chicken Pasta dish. Bhavin had me get ready while he was cooking dinner but then told me there was a family emergency and that we needed to go, so we packed up dinner and piled into the car. He started to take unusual route and next thing you know, we are on top of a parking garage looking over the Dallas skyline. He then went on to set up tables and chairs. Again, I was excited and still a little surprised there was no family emergency. So we went on to eat dinner and exchange our Christmas gifts (since we weren't able to see each other until New Year’s). We started packing the car up again and as I’m loading things in the car. I turned around and saw him on one knee. And the rest is history!
What inspired the design or theme of your wedding day? For our wedding, we wanted to give guests something a little different by blending our Indian heritage with our southern roots, resulting in an elegantly rustic Hill Country affair with the glamour associated with Indian ceremonies. We chose soft pinks, ivory, gold, and greenery to let the vibrant attire stand out.
Why did you choose the venue and vendors you did? We chose Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa because it allowed us to have multiple venues and facets to the multi-day ceremonies, and the layout and location gave the perfect southern and garden feeling to the ceremonies.
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations? There were too many to choose from! Seeing each other at the ceremony was breathtaking. And all the dancing before the ceremony and after the reception—the laughter and fun energy we have with each other was present throughout!
