Sara Piotrowski & Gary Ayers
How did you meet? After meeting online and exchanging texts for a couple of weeks, I agreed to our first date! Our Sunday lunch date after church turned into hours of laughs and enjoyment of each other's company. A successful first date led to a second, and our first kiss!
Tell us about the proposal. Two years into our relationship, we got engaged at the most magical place on earth—Disney World! It was picture-perfect and from that point on we couldn't wait to start our lives together!
What was the inspiration behind your theme/design? I wanted something simple yet chic. I called it rustic elegance, but the venue really helped to pull everything together and we didn't really need much to make it beautiful.
What were some of the unique details from your day? As believers, we wanted our special day to be a reflection of how important God is in our lives and would be in our marriage! It was so special to have our friend marry us, our pastor pray over us, and open the floor to our guests to bless our marriage.
Why did you choose the venue and vendors you did? I could go on and on about all of our vendors! The Milestone in New Braunfels was exactly what we wanted with that rustic feel and it was within our budget. We looked at about 16 venues before deciding The Springs was the perfect fit. Everyone there was super friendly and it just felt like it fit with what we were looking for. Party Time Pictures also worked within our budget, and they were by far the best choice for our photo booth. They were so friendly and professional—I’m really glad we made that choice. Our guests kept coming up and telling us how awesome they were. And our photographer Ryan Hamilton also worked with our budget and he did a phenomenal job. He’s awesome. There was a lot going on at our wedding and he was able to be everywhere, which was great. And then Knot & Veil—they were super, super genuine and professional. They did a phenomenal job on all of our hair and makeup and made the day so much fun. I really appreciated that.
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations? Yes! Our biggest thing was that we wanted everyone to have a good time. We also wanted to incorporate God and our faith into our wedding as much as possible and we were able to in a really good way. Everything went smoothly and everyone had a good time and that’s exactly what we wanted.
What advice do you have for couples planning a San Antonio wedding? Don’t be afraid to reach out to vendors with your specific budget—they might be willing to work with you. Don’t worry about all the little details—your vendors are professionals, so they know exactly what you need. And just have fun! It’s a one-time deal, so have fun.
