How did you meet?
We knew each other in high school but shortly after reunited through our mutual friends. It was a long night of adventures with our friends touring all the haunted places in San Antonio it was a fun night that started everything for us. I knew he had a crush on me after this night because the texts never stopped coming. & sure enough he arranged a second hang out with our friends to the lake...and very shortly after, our first date.
Tell us about the proposal
The proposal was so magical. We planned a trip for what I thought would just be my first time going to Disney world....little did I know he was arranging our proposal! We got to Disney World and I was so ecstatic, I had never been and this would be my first time. We got situated, did some shopping at the gift shops, got our first time visitor pins, and his family arranged to take a group photo before we went in with our day. Then John says lets go take a picture in front of the castle and I agreed, we get in front of the photographer and he gets down on one knee, pulls out a ring and asks me the question! Of course I said yes, I had been waiting for this day for some time! It was so special, & the whole rest of the day everyone kept congratulating us because of the engagement Mickey ears we had on that were given to us as a gift. It was seriously the best day ever!
What inspired the theme of your wedding day?
The theme of my wedding was an elegant vibe, with rose gold and floral elements. We made it key to incorporate rose gold throughout the whole wedding to make sure our rings would tie in and help us reflect back on this amazing day.
Why did you choose the venue and vendors that you did?
The venue we chose was because of the natural beauty it holds, it seemed as if we didn't need to decorate too much because of how beautiful the venue already was. It also held our 180 guests with no problem leaving plenty of dance floor space which was a huge thing for me. We also loved how the ceremony site was outside, with plenty of greenery and in front of their beautiful fountain. The vendors we chose were not only amazing at the jobs that they do, but some of the most affordable with nothing but outstanding quality. Everyone I chose I made sure both my husband and I agreed to and enjoyed being around. Every one of our vendors were amazing people who you could tell they loved what they do and to us that was very important.
What were some of the most unique elements of your wedding?
Many things about our wedding were unique, but my favorite was the rose gold that we kept incorporating, the lantern centerpieces, table numbers, table cloths, my shoes, jewelry and my most favorite...our wedding rings. We were both set on having rose-gold rings which is why we wanted to keep that same color incorporated through out our wedding.
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations?
My wedding expectations were beyond exceeded, everything came together so beautifully. We were just so thankful that both of our families were able to attend and enjoy this day with the both of us even through the coldest of weather this day turned out to be everything we ever dreamt of.
What advice do you have for couples planning a San Antonio wedding?
The best advice I have for couples planning their wedding is to truly work together as a team. Set your budget first and foremost and don't be afraid to call around and find people who will work with the budget your aiming for. There is really affordable options that still offer amazing quality you just have to look. Also if you can find bundle deals those are the best. Look for companies that offer multiple things, if you purchase more then one service from a vendor they are likely to cut you a deal or even offer a discount. Plus it's way easier to contact just one vendor opposed to 10. Over all though, just breathe, relax, and live in the moment. Your wedding day will come and go, take a moment to yourselves just the two of you, and truly just soak in that moment. My husband and I had a separate dinner just the two of us, & it was so special. Plus we ACTUALLY got to eat our food uninterrupted and thankfully we did because the food was sooooo good!
