Aimee Huebner & Tyler Huebner
Hometowns: San Antonio
How did you meet? We were friends in high school through our little brothers—and our brothers are still best friends today. We began dating after our senior year of college. We were in a long-distance relationship the entire time due to his Air Force career.
Tell us about the proposal. We took a skiing trip to Breckenridge, Colorado, where we had a romantic dinner downtown and then went for a walk. As we were walking back to the hotel, there were tealight candles in the snow leading the way to a beautifully lit tree. He bent down on one knee and popped the question. Of course, I said yes! It was perfect.
What was the inspiration behind your theme/design? My husband is a pilot in the Air Force so I really wanted to do a travel/aviation theme. We had all the groomsmen in military uniforms. We also had airplane cookies made as a treat for the end of the night.
Why did you choose the venue and vendors you did? I fell in love with Lost Mission the first time I went to the open house. The vendors I picked were all found by word-of-mouth from friends and family. They were all wonderful and helped me with everything I needed.
What were some of the unique elements of your wedding? One unique element was our saber arch. The military groomsmen all had sabers that Tyler and I walked through after saying “I do." We had a propeller to sign instead of a traditional guestbook. Also, we danced into the reception hall while the DJ played the song “Danger Zone.”
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations? The venue was absolutely gorgeous. We were worried we did not order enough flowers. We tried to go more simple with the décor. The venue was enough. It was perfect.
