Cassie & Justin
How did you meet? Justin and I have known each other and shared the same group of friends since high school. We've seen each other through past relationships and break ups. We lost touch with each other for a while and, unknowingly, both of us moved to Austin in 2012. There, we ran into each other at a friend's party and have been inseparable since.
Tell us about the proposal: We went to the Pearl to celebrate our four year anniversary. After eating dinner, we decided to walk along the river. I was wearing a new pair of shoes I had just bought that day and was starting to regret my purchase. I was complaining and could not focus on anything else. We found an area to sit and give my little feet a break, and that was when Justin surprised me and popped the question. Best anniversary gift I could have gotten!
What inspired the design or theme of your wedding day? I was inspired to do a country rustic theme because we are both very laid back, simple, yet classic. I do have to admit that it was not until Justin and I started dating that I truly got into wearing cowboy boots and listening to country music. The theme just fell into place.
Why did you choose the venue and vendors you did? I fell in love with the scenery and beauty of the wood/stone venue at the Milestone. The staff was great and I loved that I had the venue for the full day and the freedom to pick my own vendors. I loved all my vendors because they did superb work, had great ratings and were fairly priced for our budget
What were some of the most unique elements of your wedding? My family and friends really came together and helped with everything. The list is long and I an so thankful. I also surprised everyone when my dad and I broke out dancing to Michael Jackson and incorporated my husband, brother, mother and stepmother in the dance. It was awesome!
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations? My wedding coordinator Heather Gafke kept everything flowing so smoothly. We truly enjoyed ourselves and fun with no worries. I was ready to do it all over again at the end of the day.
What advice do you have for couples planning a San Antonio wedding? Weddings are expensive, but there are also so many ways to save money as well. Pinterest is a lifesaver, as are wedding websites.
