How did you meet?
We met my senior year in high school through mutual friends and we have been together ever since. It took a lot of effort on his end to win me over, but once he did we were inseparable.
Tell us about the proposal:
During my first semester of college at Texas A&M Kyle was at basic training, and he had just gotten back from training at the end of November. Despite being only 18 at the time, he know he wanted to get married. He proposed on Christmas Eve as the last present of the night while surrounded by family.
What inspired the design or theme of your wedding day?
I love earthy tones with hints of color and a classic look. The back drop of the hill country in the outdoor ceremony space was beautiful. I loved the cedar plank and stone of the reception space, and I felt any colors we choose would look great in the either space. Taking all of this in I felt greens, burgundy, and dusty pink would look great in both locations.
Why did you choose the venue and vendors you did?
My now husband and I paid for our wedding ourselves, so we tried to be as cost conscious as possible. I did research into a lot of vendors and found vendors that would give us everything we wanted, and the quality we wanted, without exceeding the budget. Reviews and photos really helped make our decisions vendors. We also took advantage of coupon codes on things we bought online; save the dates, invitations, bridesmaid dresses, decor, etc.
What were some of the most unique elements of your wedding?
We actually did not have an all white wedding cake. It was an ombre of dusty pink to white on each tier. Also, the bridesmaids bouquets were of just greenery and same with the groomsmen's boutonnieres.
Did anything about your wedding exceed your expectations?
I planned everything myself, and seeing everything finally come together was everything I imagined and even more. Our venue had a day of coordinator who made everything run so smoothly. She made everything run on time and made sure everything was what we wanted, she was amazing.
What advice do you have for couples planning a San Antonio wedding?
Having a day of coordinator was one of the best incentives from he venue and was incredibly helpful. Be sure you give yourself enough time to have everything set up that way you don't have to stress yourself on the day of.
