The beauty of San Antonio’s sprawling metropolis is that it doesn’t take long to find yourself in serene Texas Hill Country. That’s where hidden gems like River Crossing Golf Club in Spring Branch can be found with its 18-hole championship golf course and finely appointed clubhouse boasting panoramic views, lush lawns, and gentle breezes.
“We’re an escape from the city,” says Sales Director Amanda Acreman.
Ideal for intimate gatherings of the 75-to-90-guest variety, River Crossing can also host events for up to 150 guests comfortably. Couples have the choice of renting the full clubhouse—including the restaurant, banquet room, and patio—or the banquet room only. For four hours, the clubhouse is available for $1,000, while the banquet is available for $500.
Both spaces allow seating for up to 100; though for couples who wish to setup a dance floor, the banquet will allow up to 70. And when weather permits, the expansive outdoor patio overlooking the rolling, emerald golf greens is an ideal place for additional al fresco dining or cocktail tables and lounge furniture.
Ceremonies at River Crossing are historically held at the gazebo shaded beneath a canopy of oak trees, but brides and grooms also have the option of exchanging vows on the main terrace steps of the clubhouse. Both of these spaces are available for a site fee of $125, and 50 ceremony chairs are included. For more intimate events, couples can even setup in the main clubhouse lobby with its high ceilings and rich interiors or in front of the elegant stone fireplace in the banquet room.
Catering and beverage needs are taken care of on-site by a team of culinary experts led by two executive chefs. Clients can choose between the Lace and the Pearls reception packages. The Lace offers a fruit and cheese display, appetizers, champagne toast, signature punch, salad station, and carving and buffet stations, while the Pearls offers all of that plus a four-hour hosted bar and the option of a plated dinner.
All rentals include the use of the men’s and women’s locker rooms for getting ready, as well as audio and visual capabilities, house tables and linens, banquet chairs and covers, and basic place settings. A rustic, mobile bar can also be setup outside near the ceremony site. Beyond that, Amanda and her team will work with couples to bring in any additional vendors of their choosing.
“Couples can add and bring in whatever they want,” she says. “We offer hands-on, on-site coordination up to and through the day of—I will work with our clients to make sure their wedding is as stress-free as possible.”
River Crossing is open to the public for events year-round and offers ample opportunity—not to mention ample parking—for celebrations and gatherings of all kinds, from bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, weddings, and receptions to birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, and business meetings.
And if you’re looking for a truly unique setting for a rehearsal dinner or other pre- or post-wedding events, make sure to ask about River Crossing’s resort-style pool. With loungers and umbrellas, fire pits, romantic lighting, an entertaining room, and a fully-stocked bar, it’s the perfect place to escape.
