Lauren Fryer is a longtime professional and lifelong lover of photography. In business since 2012, she first picked up a camera in middle school when she worked for the school paper and never put it down.
“I loved being the person that captured all the moments,” says Lauren. “It grew from a hobby to a passion. I studied business and entrepreneurship in college and, in 2012, I opened up my own business.”
Lauren’s photography evokes a romantic atmosphere through the use of moods and shadows. Dramatic touches and innovative angles help her highlight the warmth that radiates from a couple in love, and Lauren always pays close attention to the unique ways couples show affection towards each other, bringing those small actions into focus.
“I’m inspired by my clients,” says Lauren. “When I scout a venue, I think about the client and what made them pick the location. Then I find ways to highlight what stood out to them and make it unforgettable.”
Lauren’s long experience and veteran eye makes her an expert at catching the fleeting, intimate moments of a wedding day. Her favorite part of a wedding is the moments following the end of the ceremony, when it’s dawning on the couple that they’ve just tied the knot.
“The way they look at each other after the ceremony is the most romantic thing,” says Lauren. “I always make sure to capture those moments, because the bride and groom will cherish them.”
In addition to capturing raw, candid moments, Lauren puts special emphasis on creating artwork. For each client, Lauren specially crafts a signature piece – a photo unique to each couple that puts their love on full display and can later be used as wall art. Lauren makes sure that each client’s signature pieces have a precise mix of love, personality and scenery.
“I had an architect couple who specially choose the San Fernando Cathedral for their wedding because they loved the architecture,” says Lauren. “I knew right away their signature piece would feature the church. My clients understand that I’m not just clicking pictures and quickly getting them to them. I’m making their wedding something they can look back on years and years from now and say, ‘We have artwork from that day.’”
While the power to capture emotions is what first interested Lauren in photography, it’s the power of relationships that inspired her to grow her hobby into a business and a passion. Lauren includes a special Client for Life deal with her wedding packages, which provides her clients with a photo session of their choosing every year.
“It’s really important for me to build relationships,” says Lauren. “I’m not a one-and-done photographer. I’m going to follow up with you every year, because your family changes every year and those moments need to be captured.”
