What if someone told you it was possible to have a wedding assistant who could make planning your perfect day easier? And what if that event assistant fit not only into your schedule but, more importantly, into your budget? It’d almost sound too good to be true if not for Keri Weber, principal planner and owner of The Event Assistant, who has built her business with the hands-on couple in mind.
“I like to say I plan with my couples, not for them,” Keri says. “That’s because many of my couples want to keep control over the details; they just want someone who can bring information to them so they can better make the decisions. That’s where I come in. I make sure they have the tools they need to do what they want, and I step in and take over only when and where they want me to.”
As a passionate organizer, Keri simplifies the wedding planning process by doing the time-consuming legwork that’s often involved. Usually a client presents her with their vision, and she assists by managing all the little pieces to bring it together. This includes everything from compiling lists of possible vendors to helping with DIY projects and giving guidance on where to get the best deals.
“I don’t offer design services, but I am great at providing direction on how to get what you want. Give me your wedding colors, the feel you are going for, and your budget and I can make some magic happen," says The Event Assistant. "My greatest strength is taking the stress out of wedding planning by being that go-to person for the couple.”
Flexibility is key to making things as stress-free as possible. In fact, Keri sets herself apart in the industry by acknowledging that no two clients—or weddings—are alike. She doesn’t have any preconceived ideas about specific styles or a budget that couples should consider. Instead, she welcomes working with different personalities, schedules, styles, and budgets. Her approach is to be whomever her clients need her to be to get the job done.
“Many of my clients are full-time students, moms, dad, teachers, business owners, etcetera. Recognizing their busy lives, I make it easier for them to have a hands-on planning experience. If they only have an hour open once a week, I go to them. If they need a spreadsheet comparing six photographers, I create it. If they want to know where to find particular wedding favors, I guide them. I do the heavy-lifting so my clients can actually enjoy the planning process,” Keri explains.
Her wedding packages include three different options. The Wedding Day Management package is for couples who have planned all of the details but want someone to help them manage the logistics and stress the day of the wedding. Her most popular option, The Partial Planning package, is for those who have already gotten a head start on planning but need help with things such as booking vendors and organizing details. And her Start to Finish planning option is for couples who have a vision in mind but need someone to handle all of the details, from day one to the send-off, to bring the wedding day to life.
Regardless of the package, couples can expect The Event Assistant to provide unrivaled service and a memorable experience. “I’ve been a bride, too, so I truly care about giving my clients my best. Even when I’m only helping the day of and I'm not involved in the planning process, I’m going to do what I can because I care about my couples having an amazing wedding day.”
